This venue illustrates the years of Elvis’ life beginning with the Birth Marker and 13 broad stream, upper waterspouts highlighting the formative years that Elvis lived in Tupelo.

These 13 spouts spill water over granite, a very hard stone symbolizing the enduring power of solid values learned during his formative years.

It also symbolizes the hard, difficult times Elvis had as “The Boy.”

The 29 lower narrow stream spouts symbolize the lesser value of importance compared to his formative years. These streams flow over limestone, a very soft stone symbolizing the more soothing, better conditions of Elvis’ life in Memphis and as an entertainer. The Death Marker notes his life ending.

The circle is completed as the lower spouts flow toward the upper spouts as a symbol of Elvis’ continuing reference to his formative years’ values in his decision-making. Those traits of humility, kindness and generosity flow together with the remaining 29 years to form a complete circle, known as Elvis’ “Fountain of Life.”
