MISSISSIPPI BLUES TRAIL MARKER

There are historical markers with interpretive sites, located throughout the state, which recognizes the persons and influences of the Mississippi Blues on the State and American culture. Elvis Presley revolutionized popular music by blending the blues he first heard as a boy in Tupelo with country. The marker, located on the Birthplace Complex, honors his contributions in expansion of his musical phenomenon and his talent for adapting musical genres.
